High in the northern mountains of the Soga Empire lie secluded monasteries, home to powerful warrior monks. Kogetsu was once one of them, until they became possessed by a Tengu, a demon of war. Now trapped in an eternal struggle between monk and demon, Kogetsu wanders the land in search of a way to break the curse.

Kogetsu can also be encountered as either an ally or a foe in the Northern Wind campaign.
